What’s Happening, Mr. Silver? first airs.
1967
Produced by WGBH and hosted by English-born, Tufts University professor David Silver, the twice-weekly show features experimental film, live action, and interviews. Boston Globe television critic Gregory McDonald subsequently calls it “[A] weekly half-hour mind blower . . . By the end of the more-or-less half-hour program . . . you’re a beat-up mess on the floor, hand groping for the Off switch while the title credits count ten over your bloody, bowed, head.” The show continues until 1968.
